Development of Inclusive Coaching Guidelines (Wheelchair Sports)
Background
Nepal Spinal Cord Injury Sports Association (NSCISA) has been working in the field of disability and social development for past 16 years. The organization was founded to promote dignity, independence, and inclusion of persons with disabilities, initially through sports and later through wider work on awareness, advocacy, capacity development, networking, counseling, and livelihood support. As part of its ongoing efforts, the organization seeks to develop structured and practical coaching resources that support wheelchair-based sports such as wheelchair basketball that not only enhance sport-specific training but also promote inclusive coaching practices that can be applied across a range of disability sports.
NSCISA invites Expression of Interest (EOI) from qualified consultants or consulting firms to develop comprehensive Inclusive Coaching Guidelines for wheelchair sports.
Objective
To develop comprehensive inclusive coaching guidelines for wheelchair sports focusing wheelchair basketball that integrates practical coaching methodologies with broader inclusive coaching principles.
Scope of Work
The selected consultant/firm will be responsible for:
Developing a comprehensive inclusive coaching guidelines for Wheelchair Sports.
Incorporating both
- Practical coaching components (training methods, drills, adaptations, session planning)
- Inclusive coaching facilitation principles applicable across disability sports
Conducting consultations with key stakeholders including:
- Coaches and trainers
- Players with spinal cord injuries
- Disability sports organizations
- Relevant stakeholders
The guidelines must be user-friendly, practical, and adaptable for coaches and trainers
Terms of Reference (TOR)
The consultant/firm will be responsible for developing a comprehensive Inclusive Coaching Guideline for Wheelchair Sports, combining practical coaching methodologies with inclusive facilitation principles. The assignment will involve desk review of existing materials, consultation with relevant stakeholders, and drafting of adaptable content suitable for coaches, trainers, and teachers. The consultant will ensure the guideline reflects international best practices and contextualize as per the scenario of Nepal and will incorporate feedback from stakeholders to finalize the document.
Key Deliverables
- Draft Inclusive Coaching Guideline for Wheelchair Sports
- Facilitation and participation in stakeholder consultation and validation process
- Final guideline incorporating feedback from validation.
Duration
30 days from the date of contract signing
Eligibility
- Experienced in sports development, curriculum development, or related fields
- Experienced in disability inclusion and disability sports (preferably persons with spinal cord injury /wheelchair sports)
- Strong understanding of inclusive coaching methodologies
- Excellent analytical, documentation and writing skills

Payment Terms
- Full payment will be done after completion of the work and submission of guidelines.
- Applicable Taxes will be deducted as per the rule of Nepal government.
